Driver setup

Vision Point software package includes the latest drivers for PCIe devices, manual reinstallation may be necessary if you encounter any driver-related issues.

Please note that after driver installation you need to restart the PC

Manual driver uninstallation

Option 1: using Device Manager

  1. Open Device Manager
  2. Open "KAYA Instruments devices" and/or "KAYA Instruments" menus
  3. Right-click on the device and choose "Uninstall device"
  4. In the opened dialog window, check "Delete the driver software for this device" and click Uninstall
  5. Perform steps 3-4 for all KAYA's listed devices
  6. Additionally check that the "KAYAXXX.sys" driver was removed from C:\Windows\System32\drivers directory

Option 2: using Settings

  1. Open "Settings"
  2. Navigate to Apps & Features
  3. Search for "KAYA Instruments Ltd. PCI Driver..." in displayed list
  4. Click on the package and choose "Uninstall"

Manual driver installation

Installing the new driver:

  1. Make sure the driver directory ({KAYA Instruments root folder}\Common\bin\driver\x64\MS_Signed) includes the following files:
    • kayakern.cat
    • KAYAKERN.inf
    • KAYAKERN.sys
  2. There are three ways to install the new driver
    1. Via dpinst.exe utility.
      Run dpinst utility choose next and after driver installation was completed click finish
    2. Via bat file.
      Run 'KAYAKERN_install.bat' from the command line or manually
    3. Via Device Manager.
      Choose the Action menu and click on Scan for hardware changes. Locate the device - please note the device may appear in Device Manager as an unrecognized PCI device with a yellow triangle icon next to the title. Right-click on the device and choose "Update driver". Choose the path to the new driver and click OK.
