This guide provides information on Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or system halt issues that may occur during the operation of frame grabber devices. It includes common causes, troubleshooting steps, and preventive measures.
Common Causes:
- Driver Conflicts:
- Remove other vendors' frame grabber drivers and software, as they can cause BSOD or even prevent the PC from booting.
- Incorrect or outdated system drivers may cause system instability. Remove old driver manually.
- Hardware Failures:
- Faulty or incompatible hardware, such as a malfunctioning frame grabber card or the motherboard PCIe slot.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Check for Driver Updates:
- Ensure all drivers are up-to-date and compatible with the operating system.
- Install the latest Vision Point app release.
- If there is a driver issue refer to Driver setup article.
- Verify Hardware Integrity:
- Visually inspect the frame grabber card and other critical hardware components.
- Please refer to our "PCI device not found" Troubleshooting guide.
- Analyze Error Codes:
- Use tools like Windows Event Viewer to review error logs and identify specific issues.
- View Vision Point app log files for a crash pattern.
